The Chinese New Year is here and adidas Originals is celebrating adidas alphabounce with the Year of the Rooster pack featuring a set of five popular silhouettes. Highlighting the collection is the EQT Support Ultra , constructed with a clean off-white upper in full-grain and intricately cut leather paneling to resemble the feathers of a rooster. The same feathered detailing is found on each other member of the collection including the Superstar 80s, Stan Smith, Superstar Slip-On, Tubular Radial, although each of those is presented in a premium black leather upper. All five models also take inspiration from the Chinese game Mahjong, with embroidered rooster graphics from the game tiles and a hangtag of an actual tile included with each pair.

Te reflective XENO material from adidas is back, featured on a new set of EQT Support models new and old. The eye-catching collection contains the original EQT Support '93 and the re-imagined modern version known as the EQT Support ADV , each in XENO uppers for a color-shifting modification to the silhouettes. But unlike previous XENO adidas predator sneakers, these don't feature a rainbow reflective effect. Instead, they'll shift to the original light grey and black color scheme of the EQT Support when they are reflected in the light for a more subtle XENO effect.

The adidas EQT Support has enjoyed a solid 20th anniversary in 2011 by following up on momentum generated in the latter adidas boost pure half of last year, and unless these get out to stores really quickly, it looks like that trend will continue into '12. This new colorway takes the 1991-born runner and slaps it with a fresh coating of today courtesy of the tonal color range that so many sneakers have shown off in recent years. The array of tones on this pair is particularly impressive and sufficiently wide that if this were a high profile release befitting a nickname, it might have to be  Picasso'.
