While at the forefront of Jordan Brand’s retro jordan retro 12 toddler, the Jordan 1 has allowed several of its Air Jordan successors to shine in the past two months. Yet, as impressive as the upcoming Jordan 4 Rasta and jordan retro 12 boys “Fire Red” colorways are, they do little (if anything at all) to reinvent their canvases. By contrast, the Jordan 1 High has been reimagined for aesthetic and functional purposes and will soon add another Zoom-cushioned take to its roster.
At a glance, this pair’s color scheme isn’t unique; in fact, green, purple and white recently appeared on a Jordan 1 Mid reminiscent of the Incredible Hulk. Closer inspection of the tallest Jordan 1, however, reveals distinctive details. Toe boxes and midfoot panels feature a hairy fabric à la Nike SB Dunk for 4/20. Surrounding overlays keep their standard smooth black leather build, but quarter and rear panels are held in place by unconventional neon stitching. Elsewhere, silver profile Swooshes add visual contrast and sit below a “ZOOM”-branded tab denoting the hidden, responsive cushioning, which hadn’t been seen on the 38-year-old silhouette prior to December 2019.
No release date has yet been confirmed for the third Jordan 1 High Zoom, but anticipate a Nike.com launch in the coming months. For more from the Jumpman Brand, bookmark our Jordan Release Dates 2020 calendar.
